Chilli, turmeric rise on stockist buying

Red chilli and turmeric traded higher by Rs 100 per quintal here today on increased buying by retailers and stockists amid low stocks.
Further, fall in supplies from producing belts and firming trend in futures market supported the upside.
Chilli and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 7,600-15,300 and Rs 7,900-12,400 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up chilli and turmeric prices.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 155-190, black pepper (per kg) 600-750, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,800-1,820 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 2,070-2,090.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 790-850, cardamom (colour robin) 790-810, cardamom bold 800-820, cardamom extra (bold) 930-980 and cloves 750-850.
