Chilli, turmeric weaken on sluggish demand

Red chilli and turmeric prices fell Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on muted demand from retailers and stockists amid sufficient stocks position.
Chilli and turmeric prices drifted lower by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 6,500-15,800 and Rs 7,400-11,100 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said low demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks, mainly pulled down chilli and turmeric prices.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 125-180, black pepper (per kg) 700-800, betel-nut (kg) 250-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 770-790 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 820-1,080.
