China auto sales up 20 per cent in September

Vehicle sales in China rose nearly 20 per cent year on year with 1.94 million units sold in September in the world's biggest automobile market, country's automobile makers' association said today.
Auto output hit nearly 1.94 million units in September, with year-on-year growth of 15.96 per cent and 14.87 per cent growth month-on-month, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said.
The volume is a 17.4 per cent monthly increase.
In the first nine months of 2013, auto sales totalled just less than 16 million units, an increase of 12.7 per cent from the same period last year, state-run Xinhua news agency said.
Auto output in the January-September period rose 12.8 per cent from a year ago to 15.9 million units.
