China has pledged a grant of USD 8.2 million to Nepal Army to build two mobile hospitals for which it had earlier given USD 9.68 million.
A protocol to this effect was signed in Beijing between Nepalese Ambassador to China Mahesh Kumar Maskey and China's Deputy Chief of Foreign Affairs Office Major General CI Guo Wei on Friday, a statement issued by Nepal Army said today.
The assistance was pledged by Chinese government during the visit by chief of Army Staff of Nepal Army General Gaurav Shumsher Rana to China about six months ago.
China has already given 59 million RMB or USD 9.68 million to Nepal army for the project.
However, Nepal Army has not yet decided what is to be purchased from the financial assistance being provided by China.
The financial assistance will further strengthen and enhance the existing friendly relations between Nepal Army and the Peoples Liberation Army of China, reads the statement, issued by Nepal Army headquarters.
