China returns 10 abducted Vietnamese children

Chinese authorities have returned 10 Vietnamese children abducted by a transnational gang from Vietnam during a ceremony in a city in south China .
Chinese law officials held a ceremony with their Vietnamese counterparts yesterday at the city of Fangchenggang to officially send the children back home.
In February last year, Fangchenggang police uncovered a case in which a group of Vietnamese were suspected of illegally crossing the border after abducting and trafficking children from Vietnam through Guangxi to its neighbouring province, Guangdong.
According to the Chinese police, the transnational children trafficking gang was led by two Vietnamese suspects,
The children were rescued and transferred to a social welfare institute in Guangxi, state run Xinhuna news agency reported today.
The police detained 43 suspects out of which 10 were Vietnamese.
Since 2009, the Chinese police have rescued and repatriated 1,804 abducted women of Vietnamese nationality and 41 abducted Vietnamese children.
