Air China and Air Mauritus will launch direct flights from Chengdu, which will be the fourth Chinese city after Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong to have direct air routes with Mauritius.
Air Mauritius will fly the 10-hour Chengdu-Mauritius route on February 5, the first to link the provincial capital with Africa, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
Air China will fly the Chengdu-Colombo route every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from February 10.
Sri Lankan airlines already operates flights from Beijing.
The Chengdu International airport received about 34.7 million passengers in the first 11 months this year.
