China's DEC offers to build 600-1000 MW plant in Telangana

China's Dongfang Electric Company (DEC) today offered to build a power generation facility having the capacity of 660-1,000 MW in Telangana, according to the state government.
A high-level DEC delegation met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Secretariat here, and also assured that the project finance would be arranged on mutually agreed terms and conditions, an official release said.
The delegation comprised President of DEC International, Han Zhiqiao and Indian representatives of the company, headquartered in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province, among others.
"DEC expressed a keen interest to participate in Government of Telangana's efforts to add power generation capacity in the shortest time possible and in an effective way," according to the release.
The visiting officials also assured the chief minister that the Government of Sichuan Province would actively support DEC's business with Telangana for power projects.
The delegation also mentioned to the Chief Minister that the company has already supplied power projects equipment to plants with nearly 40,000-MW capacity in different states.
The company is keen to forge a long term partnership with Telangana State, the release quoted the delegation members as saying.
S K Joshi, Telangana Energy Secretary and Rajashekar Reddy, Special Secretary to Chief Minister, were also present at the meeting.
