The Chinese nature reserve Wudalianchi in northeastern Heilongjiang province was given the Michel Batisse Award at the 4th World Congress of Biosphere Reserves in Peruvian capital Lima.
A documentary about Wudalianchi was presented at a ceremony that showcased the reserve's ample ecosystem, in whichinnovative solutions have been presented to tackle problems related to environmental conservation, ecology and sustainable development, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The Michel Batisse Award is given by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) Man and the Biosphere Programme since 1989 to help in developing research on ecosystems, natural resources and biodiversity.
