Expanding its reach, state-run China Daily, one of the country's leading English newspapers, has launched its ASEAN and Nepal editions to provide a "fuller picture" of the communist nation.
The launches were part of ongoing efforts to provide tailor-made services to global readers, the China Daily said.
Chinese official print and television media has expanded its reach all over the world in recent times in a big way backed by hefty budgets.
The China Daily Asian Weekly ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) Edition marks a significant milestone in the overseas growth of China Daily and joins the paper's international stable of publications in the US, Europe and Africa, it said.
"We believe that China seeks even closer ties with its neighbours, and we want to present our ASEAN readers a fuller picture of China," said Zhu Ling, China Daily's publisher and editor-in-chief.
The 32-page, compact-size weekly will be circulated throughout Southeast Asia and will also be available in digital format.
In Nepal, China Daily will be published every Friday in collaboration with Himal Media.
"We want to present China's Asian and global perspectives to Nepali readers," Kunda Dixit, a publisher of Himal Media and editor of Nepali Times weekly told state-run Xinhua news agency.
