"Thanks China for the overwhelming response. It'll surely play an important role in economic development of Maharashtra," Fadnavis tweeted after landing here around midnight.
During his visit to China which began on May 14, Fadnavis was part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's entourage and he participated in the State/Provincial Leaders Forum meeting in Beijing.
The forum had a discussion on 'Sustainable Urbanisation: Smart City, Smart Living' and the role of states in strengthening relations and development partnership between the two Asian giants, in which Fadnavis participated.
He visited and met officials and industrialists in cities like Beijing, Hangzhou, Chengdu seeking investments for the state.

In Dongguan, Fadnavis signed a 'sister-city agreement' for Aurangabad, the tourist centre in Maharashtra famous for Ajanta-Ellora cave temples.
The Chief Minister also met top officials of Haier, Yapp, CGGC, Taiyuan Heavy Industry, Great Wall Motors and others to offer investment opportunities.
