The houses, each covering an area of 200 square metres, in Shanghai's Qingpu district are made of concrete.
An enormous 3D printer, measuring 500-feet-long, 33-feet-wide, and 20-feet-high, was used to print each of the structural components of the houses which will cost USD 4,800 each.
The company behind the 3D printed houses, Shanghai WinSun Decoration Design Engineering Co said the buildings are printed with special "ink" that has been transformed from industrial construction waste, 'ecns.Cn' reported.
According to China News Service (CNS), Ma plans to open 100 recycling factories in China and continue transforming waste into cost-effective "ink" for 3D printers.
