Guanglie, who is all set to visit the US at the invitation of US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta, will hold talks with the latter and address a joint conference, a statement from the Defence Ministry said today.
During the visit, he will be also meeting other state and military leaders, it added.
Guanglie, an influential military figure in the Chinese military hierarchy, will visit US from May 4 to 10, which includes a tour of several defence installations.
The announcement came as US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner arrived here today to attend the two days Strategic and Economic Dialogue with Chinese counterparts beginning tomorrow.
During his trip Liang will also visit the US Southern Command, Fort Benning of the US Army, Naval Base San Diego, the 4th Fighter Wing of US Air Force, II Marine Expeditionary Force of US Marine Corps and US Military Academy at West Point.
The press release quoted Liang as saying that he is looking forward to the US visit, to build a cooperative partnership of mutual respect and benefit.

The visit is also expected to enhance mutual understanding and trust, promote cooperation, and push forward the healthy and stable development of bilateral ties as well as military ties, he said. PTI KJV HKR
