A high-level Chinese delegation today visited the headquarters of paramilitary CISF and discussed issues related to the security of critical infrastructure and public spaces, a task rendered by the force.
The 22-member delegation of the neighbouring country was led by Chinese Politburo Member and Secretary of Central Political and Legal Affairs Committee Meng Jianzhu.
The delegation was briefed by Central Industrial Security Force chief O P Singh about the forces' major activities even as it was given a presentation on the multiple security roles rendered by it.
Jianzhu was also accorded a ceremonial guard of honour at the forces' headquarter located on Lodhi Road.
"In the meeting, an understanding with respect to mutual cooperation on sharing of technology, indigenous experience, best practices used by each other, incident response and management system, inter-agency coordination, training and skills upgradation, terrorism and public dealing were discussed in order to strengthen the internal security," a statement from the force said.
The 1.47-lakh personnel strong CISF is tasked to secure the maximum number of civil airports in the country apart from security of vital installations in the aerospace and nuclear domain.
"The special Envoy (Jianzhua) appreciated the multifarious roles played by CISF in guarding the critical and sensitive economic infrastructures of the country," the statement said.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had yesterday met Jianzhua here and had raised India's concerns on terrorism with him.
