Chinese fisherman kills 5 crew members
Press Trust of India Beijing A Chinese fisherman is suspected to have killed five members of his boat's crew and fled, prompting authorities to announce a USD 8,000 reward for information leading to his arrest, police said.
Five members of the crew of a fishing boat were found dead early morning yesterday aboard the vessel in waters off Zhoushan City, but Fang Zhongyue along with a life raft is unaccounted for, state-run Xinhua news agency reported today, quoting local police officials.
The five victims, aged 31 to 53, have been identified as residents of Putuo District. A relative of one of the victims said that one of the men had been beheaded.
According to the notice, any person who provides information to the police leading to the suspect's arrest will receive a reward of 50,000 yuan (USD 8,000), the report said.
