Chinese universities, JGU sign MoUs for higher studies

With an aim to enhance educational exchanges between India and China, O P Jindal University has entered into an agreement with three Chinese universities to facilitate academic exchange and cooperation in legal studies.
Sonipat-based O P Jindal Global University (JGU) said in a release that three MoUs were recently signed in China by the officials of the three Chinese universities -- East China University of Political Science and Law of Shanghai, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, and Zhenjiang University, Hangzhou -- and JGU Vice Chancellor Professor C Raj Kumar.
Zhejiang University, Hangzhou has offered two fully funded scholarships to the students of JGU to encourage them to pursue their postgraduate programmes in China, it said.
Speaking on the occasion, Kumar said China and India are neighbours with great potential for cooperation and more academic understanding between the two countries is essential for Asia's success in the 21st century.
"We are proud to be associated with many leading Chinese universities to develop studies in law and public policy from a comparative perspective...
"It is notable that China has significantly advanced its higher education sector with the new strides in advancing research and scholarship culminating in some of the leading Chinese universities featuring in the top 200 universities of the world," he said.
