A Chinese woman, who fell in love with a Pakistani man and sold her house for the sake of his college fee, has been taken into protective custody by Punjab police after she reached the country to search for the man, a media report said today.
Tein Domi alias Dolly, 23, who is a clerk at a medical college in China, met Amin who was studying medicine.
She claimed that both were in a relationship and that she even sold her house to pay his college fee. Last month, Amin left for Pakistan without informing her, The Express Tribune reported.
Searching for Amin, Dolly then reached Punjab's Muzaffargarh city 20 days ago after which she went to Islamabad. However, she again returned to Muzaffargarh to continue her search, the report said.
However, to Dolly's utter disappointment, Amin's family refused to welcome her at their house and did not disclose his whereabouts, the report said.
Fearing Dolly's security, police officials took her into protective custody and handed her over to the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad. However, she is refusing to return to China without accompanying Amin.
According to reports, an investigation is being carried out to trace Amin, whose family claims he is still in China.
