In the backdrop of expansion of Narendra Modi government last Sunday, eviction notices would be issued to former UPA ministers including Chiranjeevi, Vyalar Ravi and Rajiv Shukla who are yet to vacate their official bungalows here.
Five former ministers occupying type VIII bungalows, which are allotted to cabinet ministers, are being served eviction notices to vacate as the Directorate of Estate has been given the task to allot houses to the new ministers, said a senior Urban Development Ministry official.
The official said the three formers ministers are staying in Type VIII accommodation which they are not entitled to.
Besides, Ravi (7 Safdarjung Road), Chiranjeevi (17 Akbar Road) and Shukla (5 Safdarjung Road), eviction notices are being issued to K H Muniyappa (7 Thyagraj Marg) and Adhir Ranjan Choudhary (14 New Moti Bagh).
Barring Choudhury, who is a Lok Sabha MP, all these former ministers are Rajya Sabha Members.
In the recent reshuffle, 22 new ministers were inducted out of whom four are cabinet rank ministers.
"All these former ministers were given adequate time to shift from General Pool accommodation to their respective Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha pool," said the official adding "since they did not comply with the directive, eviction notices were being finally served on them."
According to the Directorate of Estate, notices will also be issued to some former UPA Ministers who had sought time to vacate their Type VII government bungalows but are yet to do so.
