Chirounji, cinnamon prices rise on better offtake

Chirounji and cinnamon prices were trading higher by Rs 5 per kilo at the wholesale kirana market in the national capital today following fresh buying amid restricted supplies.
Marketmen said prices of chirounji and cinnamon were up on the back of pick-up in demand along with restricted supplies.
Chirounji and cinnamon prices rose higher by Rs 5 per kilogram to conclude at Rs 480-630 and Rs 170-190 per kilogram, respectively.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 170-230, black pepper (per kg) 710-820, betel-nut (kg) 250-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 820-830 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 890-1,100.
