Chirounji prices declined by Rs 10 per kg in an otherwise steady wholesale kirana market today due to slackened demand.
However, other spices, including cardamom, moved in a tight range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders attributed the weakness in chirounji prices to sluggish demand against sufficient stocks.
In the national capital, chirounji fell by Rs 10 to Rs 680-740 per kg.
Following are today's quotations per quintal:
Ajwain (per kg) 15,500-20,000, black pepper (per kg) 750-900, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,420-1,480 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,520-1,660.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 700-750, cardamom (colour robin) 680-740, cardamom bold 730-750, cardamom extra (bold) 900-950 and cloves 850-900.
