"It was just a 'courtesy call' and his suspension from the party did not figure in the meeting with the Chief Minister," Tripathy told reporters after the meeting.
"I am a suspended member. I don't hesitate to accept this. But I didn't go to discuss my suspension with the CM. It did not figure in my talks with him," Tripathy said.
"The CM inquired about my health conditions," he said.
"He is the leader of the party..Our party and the president of the BJD. I met him on these grounds," Tripathy added.
He had been arrested by CBI for alleged links with Artha Tatwa Group, one of the ponzi companies accused of duping investors across the state.
Tripathy attended the Assembly yesterday after four months, but could not meet the CM who was then out of station.
