The court initially remanded Chintoo in judicial custody, but later sent him in police remand till December 14.
"Chintoo surrendered today and the court has remanded him in judicial custody. We filed a petition seeking his custody for questioning and further investigation. The court has granted 14-day police custody," Chittoor SP G Srinivas told PTI.
He said Chintoo will be sent to prison from there the police will take him into custody after completing the formalities.
With Chintoo turning in himself today, the number of people arrested by the police so far has reached four.

A case was already registered under charges of murder and other relevant sections of the IPC and under Arms Act against all the accused including Chintoo.
