Singer Chris Brown has been served with another lawsuit for his involvement at a nightclub shooting in 2014.
The 27-year-old R&B star was hosting a pre-MTV Video Music Awards party at the 1OAK hotspot in West Hollywood, California, but the night turned violent when a gunman opened fire.
Multiple partygoers were injured including hip-hop mogul Suge Knight, who survived gunshot wounds to the abdomen, chest and left forearm.
Among the other victims was Ginja Elms, who has served Brown, singer and co-host Pia Mia, and 1OAK bosses with a lawsuit claiming they were well aware of the singer's alleged gang ties.
As a result Elms has insisted that adequate security measures were not taken and should have done a better job screening guests for weapons, reported TMZ.
In the legal papers, Elms noted that in addition to his gunshot wound, he has suffered "disruption in his relationship with his wife," and seeking damages in excess of USD 750,000.
Elms' lawsuit is similar to the one Knight served Brown in June, in which he accused the party and venue hosts of failing to hire adequate security for the bash and allowing at least one armed person to enter the venue.
In Knight's documents, he contended event organisers should have taken extra special security precautions because of party host Brown's history of violence, also claiming the singer has gang ties and a "well-documented track record of hosting events and/or parties in which violence frequently erupted".
