It is said that Hemsworth has been offered to tackle the lead role in the "American Assassin", a big screen take on Vince Flynn's acclaimed novel series, reported Aceshowbiz.
The 29-year-old is reportedly offered a USD 10 million paycheck to take the part of Mitch Rapp, a former Syracuse grad student who joins the CIA after his girlfriend is killed by a terrorist attack.
Willis is also in talks to play Rapp's mentor in CIA.
"American Assassin" will be helmed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff, who directed Don Cheadle's 2008 thriller "Traitor". The script draft is penned by Mike Finch.
The novel-adapted movie is projected to kick off the production in Montreal sometime in the fall of 2013.
