Christian community to hold prayer for India
Press Trust of India New Delhi With a view to bringing in focus the degeneration of moral values and ethics, especially noting its negative impact among people in authority, members of the Christian community have decided to hold a mass repentance on Saturday where they will pray for the country.
The effort is directed against corruption and criminality in politics, honour killings and inter-caste and inter- religious violence, phenomena which are rampant in the country, a statement from the Delhi Catholic Archdiocese said.
"On November 30, Christians across the nation would unite at 1,000 locations to pray for India.
"In Delhi, the United Christian Prayer for India will be held at the Ram Lila Grounds from 3 P.M. To 8 P.M.," the statement added.
Moral values preserve goodness in society and strengthen democratic ideals expressing unity in diversity, the statement said.
