Christians demand more compensation for Church blast victims

Pakistan's Christian community today demanded tighter security at all churches and higher compensation for victims of the recent suicide attack that killed over 80 and injured nearly 150 people.
"The federal and provincial governments should give Rs 20 lakh per person who died and Rs 10 lakh for each injured in the bomb blast," Khalid Shehzad, Vice Chairman National Peace Committee for Inter-faith Harmony and member of Christian Action Committee said.
He said the announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh per dead was insufficient.
Addressing a press conference, Shehzad said the government should also bear expense of education, health of those children who lost their entire members.
Fool-proof arrangements should also be made for protection of all churches, residential colonies of Christian under a comprehensive security plan, he added.
He warned that the Christians would be forced to launch protest campaign across the country, if their demands were not fulfilled.
He sought deployment of Rangers at the all Churches across the country.
Shehzad said arms licenses should be issued to members of church committees.
