The Christian community held a mass prayer here today to help voters as they consider their options in the Assembly polls scheduled for December 4.
The mass prayer offered by members of all Christian sects, including Catholics and Protestants, was held here at Ramlila grounds, to remind voters that they can make a difference in ensuring that the country continues on the path of progress, peace and justice.
"The social, political, economic and moral crisis calls us to recommit and rededicate ourselves for a sustained effort, and perseverance in prayer so that our nation can continue on the path of progress, peace and justice," Vincent Michael Concesso, the National Committee head and Bishop Emeritus of Delhi catholic Archdiocese said.
Scores of community members from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Delhi gathered at the 'United Christian Prayer of India' and offered prayer for the prosperity and happiness of the nation and its people.
"Christian community from all the denomination have come to a single platform to pray for all our key people in the governing authority of the nation, so that, the God shows them wisdom, knowledge and right path to govern this nation to the highest level in the world," says Prem Peter, an organising committee member.
A church choir group offered special prayers for the President and Vice President of the country.
"We will sing special prayers and devotional songs for the President of the country. So that, the God may help him to run the economic and political stability of the nation smoothly," said the spokesperson of the Delhi Catholic church.
