Industry body CII today said it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Lausanne Hospitality Consulting (LHC) to establish an Indian Culinary Institute.
LHC is the Swiss knowledge development and management advisory company of Ecole Htelire de Lausanne and the Swiss Hotel Association, it said.
Under the agreement, CII and LHC would work on establishing a Indian Culinary Institute. The Lausanne Hotel and Restaurant Training Center is also proposed to be established in India, the chamber said in a statement.
The MoU spans various other initiatives including publishing of joint research papers, creating a dual training/education certification model, and delivery of specialised training programs/master classes, amongst other joint ventures.
Sougata Roy Choudhary, Head, Skill Development, CII said: "India's burgeoning population presents a huge opportunity, which if coupled with international training standards can help creation of a truly globalised workforce".
The development is a critical step in this regard catering to the tourism and hospitality segment, it added.
Yateendra Sinh, Global CEO, LHC, said that he aim of this partnership is to develop the manpower with market derived, hands on skills and a strategic service mindset.
