The company's total coal production was 34.83 MT in July this year which is 97 per cent of targeted output, Coal India said in a BSE filing today.
According to the filing, during April-July period, CIL produced 156.15 million tonnes of dry fuel which was 98 per cent of the targeted output of 159.07 million tonnes.
The coal production grew by 10.5 per cent during the four month period this fiscal over the year-ago period.
During April-July period, coal offtake was 170.36 million tonnes as compared to targeted 179.51 million tonnes. CIL's coal offtake grew by 8.1 per cent in the period under review as compared to April-July period last year.
Coal India is expected to increase coal production by around 60 million tonnes in the current fiscal over the output in 2014-15.
In 2014-15, the company's total coal production increased by 31.81 million tonnes to over 494 million tonnes, recording nearly 7 per cent growth over 2013-14.
