The multilingual director is survived by wife, two sons and two daughters.
"Two days back we admitted him at a private hospital for chest congestion, he passed away today," his son Ajayan Vincent told PTI.
Born in June 1928 in Kerala, Vincent arrived in Chennai when he was barely 20 and began his career in cinema with Gemini Studios as an assistant cameraman.
Vincent had directed 55 movies in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films and has worked as a cinematographer in 250 Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films, Ajayan said.

Former Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa's 100th movie "Thirumangalyam" (Tamil, 1974) was directed by him.
"Brathukutheruvu" (Telugu), "Enga Veetu Pillai (MGR starrer, Tamil), "Vasantha Maligai" (Sivaji Ganesan, Tamil), "Gauravam" (Tamil), "Neela Kuyil" (Malayalam) and "Amar Deep" are among movies in which he worked as cinematographer.
The mass will be held at St Joseph Church in Nungambakkam here tomorrow and burial will be at the Quibble Island Cemetery here.
