Rejecting reservations by Tamil Nadu government, the High Court had on October 30 ordered that the CISF security cover for it should be operational by November 16.
The security system by CISF should be operational in the court by November 16 and the state government should deposit within a week Rs 16.6 crore as demanded by the Centre towards deployment of 650 personnel for a six months, the first bench, comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice T S Sivagnanam, had ordered then on a suo motu PIL proceedings related to security of the court.
The Security Committee of the High Court, which met today, discussed the security details and issues relating to demarcation of the High Court complex alone.
Justice R Sudhakar presided over the meeting attended by Advocate General A L Somayaji, Chennai City Commissioner of Police T K Rajendran, CISF Senior Commandant M R Bhale, Deputy Commandant Vinod Babu and Madras High Court Advocates Association President R C Paul Kanagaraj.
In compliance of the Supreme Court order, CISF would formally take over security from November 16, Paul Kanagaraj said, adding "since responsibility is new, grievances would be ironed out as and when they are encountered."
A Campus Security Committee and a grievance committee had been constituted to hear issues arising out of the CISF enforcement, he said.
