CISF seeks time to hand over its nine jawans to police
Press Trust of India Kozhikode Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) authorities today sought time till June 20 to hand over nine of their personnel allegedly involved in the recent clash between the central armed personnel and AAI employees at the airport here, that left a jawan dead.
Police had yesterday asked the CISF to hand over the nine personnel to them by 10 am today.
"They have sought time till Saturday to handover the nine personnel," Kondotty Circle Inspector B Santosh, who is the investigating officer in the case, said today.
He, however, did not state the reason cited by CISF for seeking more time.
Four CISF jawans and 10 Airports Authority of India (AAI) staff have so far been arrested in connection with the June 10 clash over a dispute on security clearance of AAI staff that led to the death of a jawan when a gun went off accidentally in the melee.
