Citing police inaction woman approaches dist admin to end life
Press Trust of India Dholpur A woman, who has been deserted by her husband and claims that police have not taken any action on her complaint of domestic violence, approached the district administration seeking permission to end her life.
Nazneen, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, met District Collector Kumar Pal yesterday and gave him a representation, saying that she wanted to end her life as she was "not getting any help from the police and the authorities."
"The woman met me yesterday and said she has registered a case of domestic violence against husband, who has deserted her but no action was taken by the police," the Collector said.
Pal said that the woman was given assurance of appropriate action and the police officials were directed to probe the case and take action against the accused.
