Citizen-centric cell in UP for police services

The Uttar Pradesh government today decided to constitute a citizen-centric cell to provide a gamut of services related to the police department in the state.
"The cell will be run under the guidance of Home department advisor Venkat Changavalli. It has been given responsibility of working on lessening response time of police and work on improving emergency services," Principal Secretary (Home) Devashish Panda told reporters.
The cell will also work on expediting the issuance of character certificate, verification of passport, arms license to people.
The work of centralised traffic management has also been handed over to the cell, he said.
