On the eve of International Labour Day, Jaipur unit of Centre of Indian Trade Unions today demanded that labourers of unorganised and organised sectors should be paid not less than Rs 10,000 in a month.
"Not only the wages be revised to Rs 10,000 per month and hours be reduced to 35 hours from 48 hours, the contract system in unorganised and organised sector be abolished," Bhanwar Singh, CITU district general secretary, said in a statement here.
In support of 100 cleaners and ward boys of a private hospital sitting on a sit-in for last one month, CITU would organise a day-long sit-in there tomorrow to observe the Labour Day, Singh said.
The protest would be supported by Malviya Industrial Area employees too, he added.
