continental, Italian, Chinese, Thai and Indonesian cuisine virtually on the same platter for the first time sans tinkering with the taste, a city speciality restaurant has brought the whole world to the 'city of joy'.

Popular Bengali actor Koneenica Banerjee said "Rather than sampling with the Bengali or continental dishes which we can always try at home, I have always gone for Thai and Italian resturants in the city."

Present at the Khanasutra restaurant this evening, Konnenica pointed out while Kolkata had always been a gastronomers' delight because of the availability of different types of food, "having diverse menus from all parts of the globe on the same table is perhaps unheard of."

Asked if heat and humidity could be a dampner, Koneenica said "in no way for most others I have seen. But if you ask me, I mostly go for Italian on such occasions, even Thai, lot more light and easy on stomach than Indian food."

The Food and Beverage Manager of Khanasutra, of Chrome Hotel, Arun Biswas said "there is no place in Kolkata which offers such a diverse delicacy across the globe under one roof. You can move around the globe struck by wanderlust but to tickle your taste buds you need not."

"Our chefs, having worked in mediterranean, east Asian Micelline starred restaurants, have replicated the authentic dishes sourcing the original ingredients," he said.

The menus include baby portobello mushroom, chimichiri cottage cheese steak.
