The industrial city, already facing four hour power cut for industries, experienced unscheduled power cuts from noon yesterday taking the domestic consumers by surprise.
There had been power shut down for every alternate hour or 30 minutes during night hours, besides two hours load shedding in the evening, putting the students into lot of hardship, parents in Kuniyamuthur area said.
Senior officials in TANGEDCO, who claimed that there was a drop in power generation resulting in sudden power outings in different areas, however, said this will not continue as steps are being taken to augment power generation to meet the demand.
