Fate of areas falling in the northern region, however, remains uncertain, as the government has not notified the proposal sent by the NDMC.
"Yes, the government has notified the proposal for redrawing of wards," a senior official of the SDMC said.
The erstwhile unified Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) was trifurcated in 2012 into North, South and East corporations or NDMC, SDMC and EDMC.
"The number of wards under SDMC's jurisdiction will, however remain the same, 104, only boundaries of some areas have been redrawn," the official said.

Meanwhile, North Delhi Mayor Preety Agarwal today met Lt Governor Anil Baijal and sought his intervention in clearance of the file for notification of zone-wise municipal wards.
She was accompanied by Municipal Commissioner Praveen Kumar Gupta.
The Mayor said if the notification is not cleared in a week than the "NDMC would be compelled to take the matter to the court".
She alleged that the Delhi government was allowing the corporation to function due to "party politics".
The mayor claimed that the proposal seeks to balance the area among zones for better functioning and making the boundaries in justifiable limits for ease of citizens of the area.
The mayor claimed the L-G was "quite convinced" with the proposal as it was in the interest of citizens and for better administration.
