Delhiites may get respite from the ongoing smoggy weather conditions and witness clear skies from Sunday as MeT officials today predicted that the region would be free from the effects of western disturbances.
"The city might witness some smog tomorrow, but from Sunday it will a bright and clear day for the next seven to eight days," in-charge of MeT department at the IGI airport R K Jenamani said today.
"There would be no rain and no western disturbances till November 17," he added.
Delhi has been witnessing a gloomy weather since Diwali as smog enveloped the city following the rise in pollution levels. The effects of western disturbance also contributed to the poor weather conditions, bringing down the visibility at the airport.
"There has been an improvement in the weather pattern and our models are indicating that winds would pick from tomorrow and clear the smog. We expect a clear weather from Sunday," Jenamani said.
Though we are expecting a clear weather but if there is some smog, it would be due to pollution and not because of meteorological factors, he added.
