City receives 'unusual pattern' of rains

The national capital today witnessed an "unusual pattern" of rains with areas under most observatories remaining dry while light to sporadic showers being reported in some other parts of Delhi.
According to the MeT department officials, it was an unusual pattern as Lodhi Road, Safdarjung, Palam, Ridge and Ayanagar observatories recored nil rainfall while stations at Akshardham and Sports complex reported 4 mm and 5 mm rainfall respectively.
The maximum temperature for the day settled at 35.2 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal while the minimum was recorded at 26.8 degrees Celsius, also a notch above normal.
Extreme humid conditions prevailed too making life uneasy for Delhiites.
Humidity oscillated between 61 and 85 per cent.
The weatherman has predicted overcast conditions along with light showers for tomorrow.
"It will be partly cloudy. Light rain or thundershowers may occur in some areas. The maxium and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 34 and 26 degrees Celsius," he said.
