City team invited for Dubai International Kite Festival

A city-based hobby group of kite flyers, Team Mangalore, has been officially invited to the Dubai International Kite Festival.
The festival, organised by an event management Company Classic Concepts in connection with the Dubai Shopping Festival, would be held from January 29 to 31, at Jumeira Beach, Dubai, a release here said.
This festival, organised for the fourth time in UAE, will showcase some of the best kites flown by flyers of international fame. It would be an annual gathering of all the kite lovers in the Middle East, it said.
A team of four members of Team Mangalore, Sarvesh Rao B, Nitin J Shetty, Subhash Pai and Satish Rao, would be taking part in this event.

The team would present kites of all shapes and sizes including some massive character and theme based such as Garuda, Kathakkali, Yakashagana, Pushpaka, Durga, Owl,Pushpaka Vimana and Delta Devil, among others.
Earlier, the team, a regular in International kite-flying scenes, had participated in various International Kite Festivals held at Canada, UK, France, Thailand, Korea, Italy, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka and France. The team's latest creation, "Vibhishana" had received great appreciation from the people of France, the release said.
