Civic body officials attacked during anti-encroachment drive

Several officials of the city's civic body and some policemen were today injured when they were attacked during an anti-encroachment drive by a group of people in Mawai village here.
Duty Magistrate Shyam Singh along with Rajesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) and revenue officer Virendra had gone to the village to demolish the encroachment, according to the complaint filed.
However, as the JCB started razing the wall constructed on encroached land, some men wielding wooden logs, iron rods and bricks attacked the team of MCF and police.
Several officials of MCF as well policemen were injured in the attack.

A case has been registered on the basis of complaint filed by the Magistrate, Investigating Officer (ASI) Deshraj said.
