Civic body polls: Nomination filing to start from tomorrow

The nomination filing for the civic body polls in Ghaziabad will start from tomorrow, administrative sources said today.
The candidates can file their nomination from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Candidates contesting for the post of mayor, chairman and councillors nagar nigam, municipality, town area committee can file their nominations at the assigned places, they said.
The nomination filing will start from tomorrow till November 11.
District Election Officer (DEO) and District Magistrate Ritu Maheshwari said in her media briefing that the candidates of Nagar Nigam Ghaziabad, municipality Khoda and Dasna town area committee, will file nominations at M B Girls Inter college Navyug market, Ghaziabad.
The contestants of Modinagar, Murad nagar municipality town area Patla, Niwari, Faridnagar will submit their nomination forms at Mahrishi Dayanad inter college Modinagar.

The district has been divided into 34 zones and 78 sectors. To look after the election arrangements 39 zonal magistrates and 140 sector magistrates have been designated.
On December 1, the counting of votes of Nagar Nigam Ghaziabad, municipality Khoda and Dasna town area committee will be held at Naveen mandi, Mahrishi Dayanad inter college Modinagar and Vardhman inter college Loni respectively.
Elections will be conducted through Electronic Voting Machines in Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam and in whole district ballot papers will be used, the DEO said.
Over 17 lakh voters of the district will cast their vote for nine civic bodies.
Ten thousand five hundred government servants of the district and 2,400 from districts would be pressed into the election service, Maheshwari said.
Briefing about security arrangements, Senior Superintendent of Police H N Singh said that more than 10,000 police personnels from Ghaziabad and other districts will look after the law and order arrangements.
In case of any untoward incident, the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) rapid action force will be summoned.
Anti-social elements or supporters of any political party or unruly mob will not be permitted to worsen the condition of law and order during election, the SSP said.
