According to an official spokesperson, the state government has observed that even three years after notifying the Act and constituting a commission under it, there was lack of sufficient public awareness about its provisions.
There is an urgent need of taking up a special drive for creating awareness among the people, the spokesperson said.
It has also been decided that information regarding services, and application form and documents required for obtaining it should be displayed prominently on notice boards by designated officers, grievance redressal authorities and in-charges of e-Disha Kendra.
The electronic and print media may be used for raising awareness among people about the provisions of the Act and for that purpose, an awareness campaign may be launched.
The spokesperson said seminars should be organised by the commission at district and division levels to make people about various provisions of the Act.
