Civil defense important during natural calamities: Raj HM

Rajasthan Home Minister G C Kataria today underlined the works of Civil Defense and said it's "swayam sevak" was always ready to serve people during natural calamities like earthquakes of Gujarat and Nepal.
It was the "swayam sevak" of Civil Defense who reached first at sites of accidents and natural calamities, like earthquakes in Gujarat and Nepal, Kataria told a conference of North Regional Civil Defense here.
Following participation of the personnel, other people from society also take part in relief and restoration works, he said.
Be it any accident or calamity, Civil Defense personnel used to reach in the shortest time and within 48 hours, Kataria said.

Their (Civil defense personnel) contribution could not be under estimated, and they should be encouraged for their works, he said.
Moreover, they should also have positive thinking and mindset to deal with the situation, he said, adding, the Centre was planning to arrange these personnels in an organised manner.
