"There is a need for bringing the state's Juvenile Justice Act at par with the international laws," a group of activists said in a joint statement while holding a candlelight vigil at Residency Road here.
The activists said it is "high time" that the state recognised the need for reforms in the Juvenile Justice Act, which considers only those as minors who have not crossed the age of 16.
"Our intention is to ask for the Act to be amended at the earliest due to the conflict prevailing in this zone and the increased vulnerability of children," the statement said.
