"We have to accept this reality that drugs are slowly tightening grip on the youth of the State. It is high time to start a war against this menace. We seek your (civil society) support to eradicate drug menance," he said while addressing a function organised by 'Team Jammu' in connection with the World Anti-Drug Day.
Wani said better coordination among parents, teachers, mohalla committee, panchayats and policemen was imperative to check the growing influence of drugs on the youth.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman, Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal reiterated commitment of the team to make Jammu free from drug addiction.
"We started our campaign in the month of November 2015 and people are coming out in large numbers to take this campaign to its logical end," he said.

Jamwal said efforts are being made to rope in panchayat members and religious bodies to take this campaign to every nook and corner of the region.
SSP, Jammu, Dr Sunil Gupta, said Jammu Police has started "Sanjeevani" to appraise youth about the negative impact of drugs and help them in rehabilitation process.
"It is the result of our campaign that nearly 60 cases regarding drugs have been registered in last six months in Jammu district," he said.
