CJI Dattu takes stock of damage caused to J-K courts by floods

Chief Justice of India H L Dattu today took stock of the magnitude of damage caused to the infrastructure of the state High Court and other subordinate courts here by the devastating floods last month.
The CJI, on a visit here, went to the make-shift High Court at Gupkar Road from where it started functioning after the floods in the Valley, an official spokesman said.
While inspecting the High Court complex, Justice Dattu issued instructions to the agencies concerned to speed up the sanitation work and restoration of basic amenities like electricity, water in the Court complex so that the functioning can be started from there.
He also called for early repair and renovation of all the subordinate courts which have suffered damage due to the floods.
Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court M M Kumar, judges of the High Court, Registrar General Suresh Kumar Sharma and judicial officers of subordinate courts and officers of the state government accompanied the CJI.
