Claim 10 pc rebate on property tax till Dec 31: Punjab govt

Punjab property owners will get a rebate of 10 per cent on house tax if they make the payment by December 31, Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi said today.
There will be no extension in the date in any case, he said.
"No rebate will be given to anybody, who files property return between January 1, 2014 to January 31, 2014 and 10 per cent penalty will be imposed after February 1, 2014," he said in a statement here.
He clarified that the state government is collecting property tax on pre-decided fixed rates and said people should not expect any further revision in tax rates.
