Classes at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) at Langol in Manipur's Imphal West district resumed today after normalcy was restored in the institute, a senior state government official said.
Talking to reporters here this afternoon, Principal Secretary (Home) Suresh Babu said classed resumed at the NIT.
Babu said eight students - five non local and three local - were injured in the clash which occurred following some misunderstanding on September 12 last.
He said a police enquiry was being conducted to find out whether the incident was due to fault of management of the NIT or of the students.
Director General of Police Shahid Ahmed who was present said the police would submit the enquiry report within three to four days.
Babu said at present state forces were deployed at the NIT campus and CRPF personnel would soon join them as an attempt to bring confidence amongst the students.
He said state government has appealed to all the parents both in Manipur and outside not to get panicked adding that all possible measures were being taken to prevent recurrence of such incident after studying the enquiry report.
