Reacting on Modi government's clean India campaign, Tushar Gandhi, social activist and great grand son of Bapu, today said launching a swach bharat abhiyan coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti would be not be possible by mere announcements.
"It is easy to adopt any idea or philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi because Bapu is like a clean water and can be poured in any container of any size...It will take its prominence and leave impact", Gandhi said.
"Bapu always said Swach or swachta is like prabhu bhakti (clean or cleanliness in surroundings is like the gods' devotion)", he said.
"Whether they use Bapu's ainak (spectacles) printed with swach bharat..Makes no impact as different colours are smeared on every one's eyes, layers of dirt spread on their eyes", he said.
Mere sweeping roads in a fashion would not be possible by mere announcements...People should be aware not spill waste..Such drives should begin with every one's "atmashudhi" (soul cleanliness/self-cleaness).
Gandhi has come to deliver a lecture titled: "Modern India: Bapu's Dream Come True" tomorrow in memory of Babu Brijpal Das (founder of Clark hotels).

"How faithful to Bapu's dream we are, both socially and ideologically...Thus requires audit of our democracy", he opined.
Bapu never believed on "Dharm mein bhedbhav" (differentiation in religions), he said, adding Bapu is always needed in favourable and unfavourable situation.
"Bapu-vyakti ki jaroorat nahin hai, unke vicharon ki jaroorat hai....Darshan ki jaroorat hai (Bapu as person not required, needs his ideology and philosophy)", he further stressed.
On a question related to Khadi and its use by politicians, when asked, Gandhi said, "Khadi is not a mere textile but it is affirmation of swadeshi movement...Make villages a real resource hub for cities nor the village be converted into cities in the name of development".
